The US president is no longer the most powerful president

The US elections rages on, and the different participants are on the cover of not only the US magazines, but also the world's magazines. Everyone all over the world knows not only who Barack Obama and Joe Biden are, but also who Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are. I'm from Europe and I knew the name of these without having to cheat by first looking at Wikipedia. The US is clearly a powerful country so who is and will be the next president is an important subject throughout the world, but what about the other powerful countries? What's the name of the leader in India with a population of 1.2 billion? What's the name of the leader in China with a population of  1.3 billion?

We begin with India. The leader of India is President Pranab Mukherjee, and he was elected in July 19, 2012, without a word in my newspaper. He was born in 1935, and holds a degree in law from the University of Calcutta.

The leader of China is President Hu Jintao, and he has held the position since 2003. He has also been the leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) since 2002. CPC is the only party in China, so no election debates are needed. Hu Jintao was born in 1942, holds a degree in hydraulic engineering from a university in Beijing, and has a photographic memory.
